Finding out who we are

Finding out who we are

By looking at the EREPS database, and members' survey, for the first time we are now able to find some real facts and figures about who is an exercise professional – and what they expect. One of the most powerful aspects of EREPS is that we can produce evidence about the industry – and evidence can change minds and perceptions.

As the European network of registers grows and we get more exercise professionals signed on to EREPS the findings will inevitably change – but here are some of the very first findings - from over 30% of current members who took part in our first survey, and from analysing our own database analysis:

  • The average age of our members 35 years old (not 18 and clue-less)
  • 35% have worked in the industry for more than 5 years
  • 77% expect to still be in the industry 10 years from now (real professionals!)
  • 94% of members think it is important or very important to be a recognised professional and registered as a member of EREPS (showing a true commitment to professionalism)
  • 98% of members are already doing ongoing training (continuing professional development)
